About the Teachers

About Ms. Capps

My name is Jessica Capps and I graduated from Meredith College in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. In addition, I earned my Kindergarten-Sixth grade NC teaching licensure from Meredith College in December 2009. I love working with children and share an excitement for learning new things! I strive to meet the needs of every child, providing them with the education they deserve. I enjoy reading, being outside, taking my dog for walks, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. I am very excited to be a part of the Lead Mine Elementary family and am eager to begin my journey as a kindergarten teacher. I look forward to working with you and your child!

About Mrs. Mears

My name is Sharon Mears.  I am originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but have called Raleigh home for the past ten years.  Eight years ago I had the privilege of joining the staff of Lead Mine Elementary.  Since that time I have had the joy of working with first, second and third graders.  This year I have been given the opportunity to work with the newest members of our Lead Mine family, our kindergarten students.  I look forward to helping Ms. Capps teach these wonderful children.  I hope to help her instill the joy of learning in each of our students, and help her to prepare them for a lifetime of academic success.  In my free time I enjoy being with family and friends, reading, traveling and cooking.
